Dark Chocolate Covered Almonds with Sea Salt

If you have ever tasted Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Almonds with Sea Salt and Turbinado sugar, you would agree…they are deadly and dangerous…however the most delicious blend of sweet, salty and crunch you have ever eaten! Since we are several hours away from the closest Trader Joe’s I knew I needed to improvise and come up with my own version. It was amazingly simple and quick and my honey and I are full of smug smiles!!

When you buy dark chocolate you want to check the cacao percentages. The percentage shown on many dark chocolate products refers to the percentage by weight of all ingredients derived from the cocoa bean. Higher percentages mean that the chocolate will be darker and more strongly flavored, as there is less room for sugar and other flavorings in the product.

I melted the two bars for about 2 minutes in the microwave. Stop microwaving before it is completely melted, then remove, add 1 T. of agave and stir vigorously.

Lay roasted and salted whole almonds in groups of 5 on layers of parchment paper.

Drop chocolate by spoonfuls over almonds. Sprinkle with a small amount of coarse sea salt.

Store in refrigerator. These will harden and be ready to eat in about an hour.

Be prepared with a large dose of discipline and will power…trust me…you will need it…

However, if you can’t stop eating them, rest assured they are really quite healthy for you. Dark chocolates are rich in antioxidants and almonds are a great source of vitamin E. They contain good amounts of magnesium, potassium, zinc, iron, fiber and are a good source of healthy monounsaturated fat. They also have more calcium than any other nut…so enjoy them folks!

    I truly agree dark chocolates is good for our health it will rich in cocoa for antioxidant and almond for rich in vitamin E. So what are you waiting for buy some dark chocolates and you won’t stop eating..
